SCAR SYMMETRY: 'A New And Exciting Chapter In The Band's History Is About To Begin'
September 28, 2008Swedish melodic death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY have issued the following update:
"We would like to thank each and everyone of you for the support you've given us since we announced Christian's [Älvestam, vocals] departure from SCAR SYMMETRY. We've read every mail and every comment, not only on MySpace but on tons of other forums as well. It's really cool to know that so many people care about our music!
'We want to take this opportunity to reply to some of the questions we found out there.
"Some of you wonder what other differences there were besides the touring issues. There are many reasons to why we chose to part ways with Christian, mostly minor differences we've had that each may seem insignificant, but over the years it adds up and eventually makes for a sour relationship, much like a dysfunctional marriage, you know? However, we don't think it's necessary to share every dirty little detail, out of respect for both Christian and ourselves. The situation culminated when we realized we couldn't agree on some major issues, such as touring, which is the single most important reason for our decision.
"Some of you claim that it will be impossible to replace Christian. In some sense we agree — there's no way we could find someone who sounds exactly like Christian, but even if we did, would that really be desirable? Just wait until you've seen and heard the new lineup, because a new and exciting chapter in the band's history is about to begin and we're thrilled about the band's imminent rebirth.
"Are SCAR SYMMETRY going to drastically change direction now? The answer is: NO! The deep grunts will still be there, just as the soaring clean vocals. The riffing, the solos, the songwriting, everything will still be there. We promise you this. You're not in for a big change. But having that said, we think the new lineup will surprise you."
"Morphogenesis", the new video from SCAR SYMMETRY, can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's latest album, "Holographic Universe", which registered the following first-week chart positions in Europe:
Finland: #37
UK: #39 (Indie chart)
Austria: #65
Germany: #68
In the U.S., the CD debuted at No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
An e-card for the CD is available at this location.
